Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2026
Who we are
LiftCodex (liftcodex.com) is a free strength training reference tool. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and your rights under GDPR and applicable privacy law.
Data we collect
- Calculator inputs — all calculator inputs (weight, reps, height, etc.) are processed entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to our servers.
- Email address — if you voluntarily submit your email via our signup form, it is collected with your explicit consent and stored securely via Formspree (see Third Parties below).
- Browser localStorage — we store your preferences locally on your device (e.g. kg/lb unit selection, recently viewed pages). This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.
Legal basis for processing (GDPR)
- Consent — email collection is based on your explicit opt-in consent given at the time of submission. You may withdraw this consent at any time.
- Legitimate interest — aggregate, anonymised analytics to improve the site.
Cookies & localStorage
We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. We use browser localStorage solely to persist your settings across visits (unit preference, recently viewed pages). You can clear this at any time via your browser settings (Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data).
Analytics
We may use privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns (page views, popular calculators). No personally identifiable information is collected or stored by our analytics provider.
Third parties
- Formspree (formspree.io) — processes email form submissions on our behalf. Submitted email addresses are stored on Formspree's servers. Formspree is GDPR-compliant. See their Privacy Policy.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other third parties.
Data retention
Email addresses collected via the signup form are retained until you request deletion. LocalStorage data is retained on your device until you clear it manually.
Your rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the EU/EEA or UK, you have the following rights:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data.
- Erasure — request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
- Withdraw consent — withdraw your email consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
- Portability — request your data in a portable format.
- Lodge a complaint — you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@liftcodex.com. We will respond within 30 days.
Children
LiftCodex is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
